This month's Duke in the Dome session becomes Duke in the chamber of peril, as crew and guests gather in a specially-created party venue full of traps, tentacles and terror.

From the moment they arrive at the landing point, looking down a corridor filled with peculiar vines, partygoers are plunged into a strange adventure. The end of the corridor opens into a space completely encrusted with bizarre, secreted formations and unusual, alien plants, all surrounding a central platform on which a huge, skeletal figure lies fused to its station, the machinery around it long since out of action.

Skull-like creatures skitter over the ground below, and, on closer inspection, the crew discovers the remains of previous explorers from long ago, still held fast in the grip of the unusual plants clinging to the walls. Strange leathery objects - eggs, perhaps - litter the floor.

Duke's music soon fills the space, and the dancing begins. Some of the more curious partygoers decide to investigate the plants, and get more than they bargained for...

Fortunately, the extremely friendly plants do not do any lasting damage to anyone they trapped, and the party continues as planned, with another of Duke's wonderful, eclectic playlists and some spectacular Halloween costumes on display.

(Special thanks to First Officer Ms Tari, for creating such an amazing space for the event!)

There is a dedicated Gallery for this event - check it out here. Additional photo credit to Lise for her beautiful portrait shots.

Penumbra believes deeply in the wellbeing of its crew. Once every month, the station's submissive crew members gather in a private space, with no dominants present, to chat freely. Sometimes, conversation centres around a discussion topic, while other sessions are relaxed, general chat. The group meets at the Penumbra pool, where they may take advantage of the facilities or simply relax. All submissives (and switches in their submissive role) are welcome - and no matter where on station and in what predicament a sub may find herself, care is taken that no one misses out.

Crew, Ladies and guests assembled in the Penumbra classroom for the Education & PR Branch's latest session. Branch Head Kaneha led attendees through a comprehensive description of boundary identification, peppering the discussion with a series of thought-provoking questions, and challenging everyone to consider their own boundaries. This stimulated a lively and rich discussion, with attendees volunteering comments and observations from their own experiences.

The class was received extremely positively, and Kaneha would like to extend her thanks to all the attendees for their enthusiastic participation. The Education & PR Branch is preparing a follow-up class, looking at subjects such as attachment styles and red flags. There are also a number of other classes, either planned or already written, which will be presented in due course.
